Link: The Public School Parents' Guide to Homeschool Parents

I came across an awesome post, The Public School Parents' Guide to Homeschool Parents, discussing several misconceptions about homeschoolers.

Kris, the author and blogger from Weird, Unsocialized Homeschoolers has kindly allowed me to share a snippet...

2. We don't homeschool because it gives us the warm fuzzies.
There are probably almost as many reasons to homeschool as there are homeschoolers, but I don't know of anyone who does this just because it makes them feel good because, you know what? Some days, it does not feel good. Some days involve tears, whining, yelling...before breakfast...and not necessarily from the kids. Which leads me to confession number three...

While all of her points are spot-on - this one is a perfect summation for me. I most definitely do not homeschool because I feel good about it. The aggravation and frustration that I experience while homeschooling at times is enough to drive me to a complete meltdown. However, the pros do outweigh the cons for our family, so I endure the sacrifice.

I would recommend all my friends to read this post. It's clear, concise, and entertainingly honest! Click here to read the post!

  2. While hubby worked, I homeschooled my children. I have to tell you that I really enjoyed having them with me all their young years. I will carry them with me to the end.

Thank you for your post, and for the cartoon. Very cool!
